How many times have we heard these sarcastic words ? For some reason, they have the uncanny ability to ridicule whomever suggests that we are being fooled by the political establishment.
Yet we ARE sometimes being fooled : e.g. who can forget Saddam Hussein´s inexistent weapons of mass destruction ?

Solar cycles, not CO2, are the main drivers of climate on earth.
Since 1998 the world has experienced 10 years with no climate warming. By the end of 2007, temperatures started to plummet: we had unusually cold winters. Yet CO2 emissions had been steadily increasing with the fast emergence of China and India as major industrial economies.
El Niño caused some warming in 2009 and 2010. But when this natural phenomenon abates, perhaps by the end of 2010, the "cold" solar cycle is expected to cause more cooling. Some independent scientists warn that a new "little ice age" is likely, which would entail dire consequences for crops and food supply.

TV reporter says : 8,000 bird victims yearly in Navarra ( this is probably conservative, for Dr Lekuona had estimated 7,100 victims in only 10 Navarra wind farms, or 368 windmills out of a total of over 950 ).

Note : there are some errors in the comments: 1) birds are not "sucked in" by wind turbines. Unlike fans, wind turbines do not create their own wind, nor a corresponding depression behind; 2) windfarms in Spain killed much more than 800 vultures. From the available evidence, about 2,000 griffon vultures, and some egyptian vultures, may be killed yearly by turbines in Spain.
Indeed : 177 griffon vultures killed by wind turbines in the north of Castellón province in 16 months. Note : it does not say 16 months in the article, but the first mortality was recorded in October 2006 ( from earlier press articles available upon request ), and the official count of 177 - some say the real figure exceeds that number - was released 22 January 2008 ). Other large-scale massacres of vultures occur in Navarra, Aragon, Soria, Andalusia, and probably Burgos ( there is no monitoring in that province ).

Animals feel pain, and suffer from stress and anxiety like we do. We have abused them for so long, they deserve a break.
Most people think human beings come first, and with this quasi or sometimes fully religious belief they justify cruelty-by-neglect (e.g. fur animals being skinned alive as above) and even torture (e.g. in laboratories).
Being more considerate towards our fellow living-and-suffering creatures does not entail being less considerate for human beings, ON THE CONTRARY.
