Email from a Norwegian resident birder on the subject of a white-tailed eagle killed by a windfarm on the island of Smola, Norway: Hello Mark, As far as I know it looks like the man who found the bird contacted his local Newspaper. http://www.tk.no/nyheter/article1689415.ece I see that the date of the article is 08.08.2005 while the date on the photograph that was taken by the man who found the bird was taken on the 3.8. In the small article it states that the wind turbine that killed the eagle is about a kilometer from the mans house. When he found the eagle he started looking for a ring, but the birds feet were missing, he found the lower part of the body 20 meter from the turbine. Hope this is of some help
