How many times have we heard these sarcastic words ? For some reason, they have the uncanny ability to ridicule whomever suggests that we are being fooled by the political establishment.
Yet we ARE sometimes being fooled : e.g. who can forget Saddam Hussein´s inexistent weapons of mass destruction ?

Since 1998 the world has experienced 8 years with no climate warming, and the last 2 years have seen significant global cooling. Yet CO2 emissions are at a record high with the fast emergence of China and India as major industrial economies.

6) BIRD MORTALITY CAUSED BY WIND TURBINES:

TV reporter says : 8,000 bird victims yearly in Navarra ( this is probably conservative, for Dr Lekuona had estimated 7,100 victims in only 10 Navarra wind farms, or 368 windmills out of a total of over 950 ).

Note : there are some errors in the comments: 1) birds are not "sucked in" by wind turbines. Unlike fans, wind turbines do not create their own wind, nor a corresponding depression behind; 2) windfarms in Spain killed much more than 800 vultures. From the available evidence, about 2,000 griffon vultures, and some egyptian vultures, may be killed yearly by turbines in Spain.
Indeed : 177 griffon vultures killed by wind turbines in the north of Castellón province in 16 months. Note : it does not say 16 months in the article, but the first mortality was recorded in October 2006 ( from earlier press articles available upon request ), and the official count of 177 - some say the real figure exceeds that number - was released 22 January 2008 ). Other large-scale massacres of vultures occur in Navarra, Aragon, Soria, Andalusia, and probably Burgos ( there is no monitoring in that province ).
